Verifiable AI on Bitcoin with Ordinals Plus
Beta Cohort 2 Proposal – DIF Labs
Title & Summary
Verifiable AI records prompts, model details, and outputs on Bitcoin using Ordinals Plus. A single SDK anchors an auditable log entry as a W3C Verifiable Credential (VC) and inscribes the full credential, giving anyone a quick, decentralized source of truth for AI results.
Built on DIF Labs Beta Cohort 1 project (Ordinals Plus) and a 2024 prototype that wrote to the CHEQD network, now ported to Bitcoin.
Problem & Approach
Trust Gap in AI
AI output is easy to fake or manipulate. Consumers and developers need a public, tamper-evident trail that links results to the exact input and model context.
Approach
- Wrap any AI call in a TypeScript helper.
- Capture prompt, model metadata (e.g., weights hash, version, source), and output.
- Issue a Verifiable Credential (VC) describing the run.
- Inscribe the full VC on Bitcoin via Ordinals Plus.
No new infrastructure—everything rides on Bitcoin and open DID/VC tooling.
Expected Outcomes
- v0.1 Verifiable AI SDK (TS / Node)
- Docs, examples, and MIT-licensed repo
We also anticipate the potential for a bonus artifact: issuing VCs as Content Credentials (per C2PA) alongside Bitcoin inscription, enabling dual attribution—AI and user—on the same credential. This enhances verifiability and supports another RFP focus area.

Fit with Cohort Focus
Directly addresses the Verifiable AI track by turning every AI run into a signed, transparent artifact anchored on Bitcoin. The approach is grounded in W3C and DIF standards and showcases how verifiability can be both practical and public.
Also aligned with Content Credentials as a possible secondary output. We see this as a natural extension and invite cohort-wide feedback and experimentation here.
